Israeli regime Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the military to devise a plan to evacuate Palestinian civilians from Gaza's Rafah ahead of a potential invasion of the densely populated southern city, despite concerns that such action "would be a disaster."

Netanyahu's office announced on Friday that he had directed the military to formulate a "combined plan" involving both civilian evacuation and operations against Hamas fighters in Rafah. The statement asserted that leaving Hamas battalions in Rafah would hinder the war's objective of eliminating Hamas, necessitating civilian evacuation from combat zones.

These evacuation directives are perceived as part of Israeli propaganda efforts. At the onset of the aggression on Gaza, the regime instructed 1.1 million people in northern Gaza to relocate southward, yet bombardments have persisted in the south.

Uncertainty looms over where civilians can seek refuge, given the widespread destruction inflicted by Israel's genocidal war on Gaza since October, particularly in northern areas.

Netanyahu's order defies substantial international criticism, including from the US, with President Joe Biden condemning Israel's conduct in the war as "over the top," marking the strongest US rebuke yet of its staunch ally. The US State Department cautioned that an invasion of Rafah under current circumstances "would be a disaster."

Israel has initiated airstrikes on Rafah from the air since overnight. Aid agency officials have underscored the catastrophic implications of any Rafah invasion, emphasizing the critical role of essential infrastructure in sustaining life amid the conflict.

The war on Gaza commenced on October 7 following Hamas' Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in response to decades of Israeli oppression. The offensive has resulted in the deaths of at least 27,947 Palestinians, with over 67,459 others injured. Gaza remains under complete siege by Israel, exacerbating humanitarian crises in the region.
